| Yes, well I have also been enticed into this forum, Trevor Jefferson, 34 years since I started Wing Chun under Alan Lamb in Gateshead, 24 years teaching professionally under the Samuel Kwok Martial Arts Association.
At the opening of the Yip Man Museum in Foshan Grandmaster Yip Chun introduced me as "Master Trevor" (not a title I use myself but who am I to complain) on stage to say a few words, which was amusing because being a 'Geordie' most UK residents have trouble understanding what I say, nevermind the Chinese audience and those watching the TV coverage, lol.
Since starting visiting forums a few years ago I think it will make a nice change to actually discuss ideas, the venom I received in various forums from MMA/NHB shocked me initially though it was understandable when their views were based on the available evidence of the Mc Dojo's on youtube, I found that once I explained where my Wing Chun was coming from at least I gained enough respect for them to refrain from calling me a self-pleasure merchant,
I have now moved to Mallorca, Colonia de Sant Jordi, have opened a bar and in the process of developing a gym to offer Wing Chun to the locals and start a cheap holiday scheme as the bar is part of a set of apartments, but that is a hopefully in the not too distant future.
Anyway best leave it there as this may turn into an epic as once I get started on Martial Arts I tend to forget the time/space continuem exists and go on forever. _________________ A day without a smile is lost. Knowledge is power. Take care and stay safe out there. |
