One thing I find interesting is the correlation between age, gender, pack mentality and unaviodably alcohol.

Who do most 16-24 year old males spend the majority of their time with?

OTHER 16-24 year old males.

What do groups of 16-24 year old males do together.

Drink.

If you're young, drinking and with your mates that's a recipe for violence. I suspect its always been the same.

The one statistic I find interesting and I'd like to understand the contributing factors is the 9% unemployed.

I dont trust stats too much, the people producing them always seem to have a vested interest and gear the results to what they want them to be.

Really we are all at risk and that's enough to keep me training.

Yes your right Alan just try mixing a few of thos stats together- thats my point really. People are easily drawn into a false sense of security by deception. Age doesn't really come into it THERE ARE CAREER CRIMINALS WHO DON'T CHANGE THEIR WAYS AS THEY GET OLDER. Anyone has the potential to do us harm.
And it is far better to be prepared for self defence than to walk around believing stats with no real truth behind them. Its pretty much common knowledge that a lot of crimes against the person go un-reported for a number of reasons making stats of this nature very unreliable.
