Congratulations on completing a novel, it certainly ain't a quick job is it..!

As far as publishers go, not sure if you've got hold of the Writer and Artists Yearbook - if not it is full of listings, advice etc. About 14 quid in bookshops, might be cheaper online, but worth every penny.

Particularly useful to help you to target the publishers who have a specific interest in the genre you are writing.

The other book that might be worth a look was written by Geoff Thompson's publisher Stewart Ferris - How to get published. Only a fiver, and lots of advice from someone on the inside of publishing. link here http://www.stewartferris.com

There is always the self publishing route, not as lucrative but it gives your work a platform.

I'm not too sure about self-publishing Alan. It seems costly and I worry folks wouldn't take it seriously since it was not traditionally published.

I will say that I have had no luck finding an agent thus far and have been sending directly to publishers lately. It is a FRUSTRATING process.

Great achievment Jeff just keep sending it out and stay positive the best route for you now is to write another one. I agree the writers and artists year book 2008 is tops. you can get it on amazon Its packed full of information.
Do you see the cover of the book in your mind's eye, do yu see it the shelf in your local book stores etc.
