Where in England would you find rural, backwoods areas with small villages, and perhaps odd characters etc.?

Thanks

Jeff

Would it make a good setting for a horror film you think?

Yes they filmed a version of oliver twist (i know thats not horror) there and have done some other movies too. Its the highest town in England and is quite isolated and behind the times looking, with old buildings. Its main street is cobbled too and used to be part of the largest leadmine centres in the world. heres a link if you ever need a tour im sure we could sort something out. http://www.alstonhistory.org.uk/walk.htm

take care.

Definitely Jeff, the Lakes can be one of the most beautiful places on the earth during spring and summer. It can be the exact opposite in winter!!

Loads of gothic horror stories set around the area.
